& By-Laws

November 2008 Newsletter

Hi everybody!

Iím back to try to catch up on this website.  Now that everything is settled as to the divisions within the state, I can begin to make the changes here.  It wonít be done overnight, but Iíll start to devote as much time as I can to making the changes.  Check back often to see the results.  They should start within a week.

We had our annual Convention this past weekend, and if you missed it, you missed a good one.  Our morning speaker was Officer Don Breeden from district #6 of the Indiana State Excise Police, and he was an excellent speaker.

He was very informative in his delivery, and after he finished, he answered questions from the members with detailed answers.  He even returned at 1pm after our lunch break.  He answered more questions, and also gave his calling card to as many members as wanted it so that we can get in touch with him if any questions arise later.  Officer Breeden, if you check out this site, we thank you more than we can express here.

We were supposed to have a second speaker in the afternoon from the Health Department, but Iím afraid that speaker was a "NO SHOW-NO CALL."

We had the final reading on the revised Constitution and By-Laws incorporating all the amendments voted on by the members since the last printing, and was approved by the members present with a few changes.  Iíll put this revised version on this site as soon as I confer with Debby Golubski, our Secretary-Treasurer to be sure Iíve included everything properly.  Also, our Jr. Past President, Cas Gorski, volunteered to make copies of the final version so that the Secretary-Treasurer can mail them to all the paid member organizations.  Watch for them in the mail, and alert whomever in your organization that normally receives the mail to NOT put mail received from the Council directly into "file-13" as this is something each member organization should have available.

One of the "biggies" amended is that the areas for Vice-Presidents and Directors is changed from five (5) (Northwest - Northeast - Central - Southwest Ė Southeast) to three (3) (North - Central - South).  As soon as I can, I will have the list of new officers on the website so that, if any member organization (or any non-member organization that wishes to become a member), can contact one of the officers in their area if they need any questions answered about the Council activities.

I intend to put up the revised Constitution and By-Laws first, then the list of officers.  I will have the list of committee-persons as soon as our new president, Kathy Schulthies, informs the Secretary-Treasurer since she and I are both here in South Bend.  I will also re-arrange the areas from five (5) to three (3) with maps denoting the same, but this will take a little longer.

As always, I want this site to be as informative as possible for all of the member Organizations, so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to contact me through our Contact Us page and I will get back to you as soon as possible.  The same goes for any information you wish to change about your organization that I presently have on this site, or any information you wish to share with other member organizations.

If you would like to advertise an upcoming event for your organization, I would be happy to include it in future newsletters.
